GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — star Amare Stoudemire will sit out his third straight game with a sprained left ankle Tuesday against Chicago and may not play again until the postseason.
Coach says Stoudemire is still not 100 percent, but wouldn’t rule him out for Wednesday’s regular-season finale at Boston. He says Stoudemire would be ready for the opener of the playoff series against the , which will be Saturday or Sunday.
The Knicks are locked into the No. 6 seed, so they have nothing to play for in either regular-season game.
Stoudemire was hurt last Wednesday at Philadelphia when he stepped on Thaddeus Young’s foot trying to block a shot. The Knicks are 3-0 this season without their All-Star, who averages 25.4 points.
