Melo, Knicks trying to survive in the East

With a 5-35 record thus far this season, the New York Knicks players and management know that the fight has been beaten out of the team and the dreaded “R” word is now not so frowned upon.

“We’re obviously at the beginning of a major transition of redefining New York Knicks basketball,” Knicks coach Derek Fisher said. “And so, the patience has to stay there at all times.”

Carmelo Anthony knows that he is probably the only one not trade-able on the team, but that does not necessarily mean that he doesn’t want to explore the possibilities..or at least work his way out of his no-trade clause.

“Come on, man. After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind,” Anthony said in December 2014. “I’ve never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I’m not going to pick today to do that.”

So, why not get out and help Melo and the New York Knicks as they face the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to get yours today!

Jackson fires entire Knicks coaching staff

The New York Knicks General Manager, Phil Jackson, has completed the firing of Mike Woodson and his entire coaching staff from the 2013-14 Knicks squad.

Coach Woodson, caught by ESPN cleaning out his office had the following to say:

“I’m not really entertaining anything with the media right now. I’m just trying to clear my head. That’s what I’m doing. … I’m fine. I have been doing this a long time. I’m good, really good. It’s time to move on.”

Not many players have yet to voice an opinion on the subject with the exception of  oft controversial J.R. Smith.

He was great to me. I think I got a fair shake for the first time in a while under him,” Smith told ESPN. “He treated me how he wanted to be treated. It sucks, but there is nothing I can do about it.  I think he did a great job. I think he did a good job with me. He responded to the players. It’s just a sad day for him, for me and my teammates.”

No word yet on who Jackson is looking at to replace Smith, but the current rumor is that it will have to be someone with extensive Triangle Offense knowledge.  Former PG Steve Kerr has been mentioned often in talks.

Knicks post fifth straight victory

The New York Knicks have been on fire as of late and the Detroit Pistons became their fifth victim and second since Head Coach Mike Woodson called C Tyson Chandler into his office to question his output.

“He called me into his office and he said, ‘You’re an All-Star, you need to start playing like it. The last thing you want is people questioning that,'” Chandler said. “The next night, I had a different focus about me.”

Since that meeting, Chandler has posted three straight games with 20 or more rebounds.

“That’s what I expect,” Knicks coach Mike Woodson said. “He can’t tease me. He’s done it three straight games, so I’m expecting it the fourth game.”

The Knicks next face the Washington Wizards Wednesday Night.  Be sure to get your tickets!
